Got some questions

Below you will find a list of frequently asked questions about BecomingX, our work, education platform and social impact projects. If you can't find an answer, please get in touch with us.

BecomingX is a learning and development company set up to create a world where everyone can realise their potential. We work with leading companies to provide exceptional in-person and virtual learning experiences, we help schools deliver personal development or 'PSHE' programmes, we create films with the world's most inspiring and iconic people and we deliver social impact projects with our clients, partners and charitable Foundation.

B Corporations are certified companies that meet the highest social and environmental standards. BecomingX is proudly different - we believe we have the ability to change the lives of hundreds of millions of people. That's why we do what we do, and why we operate in a way that wouldn't make sense to purely profit maximising companies. BecomingX is the highest scoring B Corporation in the UK and the third highest in the world.

No - even better, we're 'carbon positive'. This means we take out more carbon than we emit through our operations. We have committed to removing an additional 100% of our emissions from what we emit. We reduce our emissions as much as possible, and offset through an accredited programme.

We're a small team, when we do occasionally have vacancies we post them on our Careers page.

We work with some of the world's most successful companies to develop high performing employees. Everything we offer is bespoke - talk to us if you are interested in:
- tailored learning and development programmes, from a one-off virtual masterclass through to multi-year programmes to develop high performing employees
- unforgettable team events that are genuinely impactful, from intimate workshops to large-scale conferences
- using film internally to tell the stories of your employees, to inspire, encourage and build culture.

Yes. While we are not a 'speaker agency', we regularly organise events for corporate clients featuring our interviewees (both those whose films you may have watched on the website and a number of people whose films have yet to be released). We also have many connections to top talent and are experienced in working with the biggest names in the industry. We can engage our 'famous faces' as well as incredibly inspirational speakers who have impactful stories to tell of their personal endeavours. We manage the whole process end to end for our clients.

As we personally know all of our interviewees, we can often provide favourable guest speaking rates (our interviewees are keen to support our mission) and we have a transparent and no nonsense approach.

Yes! Both regularly speak at corporate events - contact us for more details.

At the most fundamental level, we help students to develop the personal attributes - the skills, knowledge, attitudes and relationships - needed to succeed.

This type of education goes by many names; 'character education', 'PHSE', 'social and emotional learning', 'essential skills', 'life skills', 'employability skills', 'skills to succeed', 'soft skills'.

Specifically, the attributes we aim to build are -
1) Skills: Solution finder, effective communicator, team player, inspiring leader
2) Knowledge: Lifelong learner, healthy performer, expert practitioner, reflective thinker
3) Attitudes: Ambitious dreamer, go getter, resilient survivor
4) Relationships: Respectful operator, tribe builder, deal maker

See 'Science of success' for more information on the 14 attributes we focus on (based on indepth research).

UK Only - While the PSHE Association no longer quality assures 'whole programmes' like BecomingX Education, all of our lessons have been designed based on the ten principles of effective PSHE education. Click here to see the Curriculum mapping against PHSE requirements.

BecomingX Education is available for Primary schools (ages 8-11), or Secondary/All-Through (which contains all content for ages 8-18). Home Edition includes content for ages 8-18.

You can test out either platform by signing up to a free preview 'Lite' account. Preview accounts do not expire - take as long as you like to look around!

If you are a MAT or Corporate and would like to subscribe or sponsor multiple schools, please contact us.

For Schools, the annual subscription fee is all-inclusive regardless of how many users you have on your account, they just have to be part of your institution.

Home Edition is designed for use in the home environment by parents who wish to supplement their children's personal development education, and homeschoolers who are looking for support in teaching personal development (also known as PHSE or character education). Home Edition is designed to be a facilitated learning experience. We provide a comprehensive lesson plan, activity handouts where needed and guidance for supporting learning, to make delivering our lessons as easy as possible. Content is designed for children aged 8 - 18, with increasing levels of difficulty.

We have a student-led app in development, as part of our future release plans.

You can use your Home Edition subscription in your own home with more than one child (such as siblings, or in your homeschooling pod). We do not charge extra for siblings. Your BecomingX Education Home Edition subscription is unique and personal to you and your household. It cannot be shared with multiple households or families who do not share your residential address.

As per our Terms and Conditions, you cannot use Home Edition in a classroom setting, or with a youth group. Schools, colleges and youth groups are able to subscribe to BecomingX Education for Schools.

Yes. The preview versions of both BecomingX Education for Schools and Home Edition are free. For schools this includes one lesson per year group and for home schoolers we have two taster lessons for you to try. There are also a subset of features available for both.

1) Case sensitivity on email address & password. Please be aware that email addresses are case sensitive, and must match the email address you first entered on the system! Contact us to check if you're not sure and we'll help you out.

2) In some instances if you abandon your purchase process half way through and then go back in later, this may cause an incorrect credentials error. Our lovely tech team are working on a fix for this! If this happens to you, please contact us and we will unstick you.

If you are not seeing the content you expect, the most likely situation is that your subscription has expired and you have been downgraded to our 'free' preview version.

Contact your School Administrator to check on the status of your account. If you are not sure who that person is, their name will be visible on the Survey page in the Control Panel.

If you are the School Administrator, you can renew your subscription through your account settings if you wish to pay by credit card or contact us to arrange a purchase order and BACS invoice.

We aim to interview the world's most inspiring and iconic people. We have a robust process of identifying and selecting people we believe have inspiring stories and insightful lessons to share with the world. Where measurable (e.g. sport), our interviewees are the best in the world at what they do, and have to have an exceptional story to tell. We will not interview anyone with any active evidence of racism, sexism or offensive behaviour for which they haven't acknowledged or apologised for. Our interviewees aren't perfect. None of us are. Some have difficult pasts, but we believe they all have valuable lessons to pass on to help others succeed.

Over time, we'd like to interview the most inspiring and iconic people in every country in the world, across multiple fields, so no matter where someone is from or what they want to achieve in life, they have someone they can relate to and learn from.

No. Our interviewees share the same goals and aspirations as us. They want to help and to share their experiences and lessons to others.

Typically, no. Sorry. We are very protective of our interviewee's privacy. If there is a legitimate reason or collaboration opportunity and all other channels to contact them have been exhausted, we may consider requests if we believe them to be of value to an interviewee.

Sadly, we can't forward on any mail to our interviewees. You can send fan mail to us though. We'd like that.

We'd recommend checking out his website to see ways of getting in touch with Bear's team.

We set up the BecomingX Foundation to help realise our vision of a world where everyone can realise their potential, no matter what their starting point in life.

As an independent education charity, registered in the UK and the USA, the BecomingX Foundation uses and builds upon BecomingX’s educational content and capabilities to support education in underserved communities.

Their specific approach focuses on providing unique educational programmes, working closely with local partners and like-minded organisations to build young people’s skills and confidence, and providing inspiration and opportunities to individuals to help them realise their potential.

To support the Foundation, BecomingX provides all of our education content, intellectual property, operational support and, at a minimum, 10% of revenues from our education sales to schools.

The Foundation’s ambition is to help inspire, equip, and enable young people and educators in underserved communities, helping the next generation to have the skills and confidence needed to face life’s challenges head on, realise their potential and succeed. To date we have completed projects in Africa and with Ukrainain refugees.

We support the BecomingX Foundation in 3 ways:
1) We licence all of our IP and educational resources (for free) to the BecomingX Foundation for use in lower income countries and underserved communities
2) We provide a minimum of 10% of our revenues from school purchases of BecomingX Education to the Foundation to help provide financial resources
3) We provide significant executive support and volunteering time as well as providing additional organisational resources (e.g. IT, design, reporting etc.)

Yes! They'd love that. Please check out their website to find out how.
